Southwest Health to Host Summer Pre-Teen Mental Health Support Group


SSouthwest Health is introducing a new support group designed specifically for pre-teens, focused on mental health, coping skills, and building resilience. The group is being led by Mental Health Therapist, Ashley Dixon, MSW, LCSW and Social Worker, Kaitlin Klug, MSW, CAPSW and will provide a supportive, engaging environment for students in grades 5 through 8.

The weekly sessions will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM in the EMS Conference Room at Southwest Health at 1350 Eastside Road on the following dates: Wednesday, July 29, Wednesday, August 5, Wednesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 26.

This free program is designed to help pre-teens better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and connect with peers facing similar challenges. Each session will include guided discussions, interactive activities, and opportunities for open conversation in a safe and welcoming setting. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

The group aims to host approximately 20 participants per session to ensure meaningful interaction and engagement. Registration is required with limited seating at southwesthealth.org/preteen-mental-health-workshop.
