Orthopedic Surgeon, Matti Asuma, MD, FAAOS, Joins Southwest Health

Southwest Health proudly announces that Matti Asuma, MD, FAAOS, Orthopedic Surgeon, has joined the Orthopedic Institute at Southwest Health in Platteville.

Dr. Asuma is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS). He provides expert care in hip & knee replacement, helping patients regain mobility and return to the activities they love.

A native of the Midwest, Dr. Asuma completed his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin and his orthopedic surgery residency at the Orthopedic Surgery Residency from Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. Dr. Asuma, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction. After completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, he spent four years as a staff orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Army, where he served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley, Kansas, and deployed with the 67th Forward Surgical Resuscitative Team.

At Southwest Health, Dr. Asuma will provide comprehensive orthopedic services from conservative treatments to advanced surgical procedures tailored to each patient’s unique needs. His goal is to empower patients through education, compassionate care, and innovative treatment options.
