Lisa has been a nurse practitioner for 24 years, beginning practice in 2001. Her early clinical experience included ENT, cardiology, and family practice, after which she became the first Palliative Care nurse practitioner. She transitioned into Emergency Medicine and has spent the past 14 years dedicated to Hospital Medicine where she values the complexity of inpatient care and the opportunity to guide patients and families through acute illness with clarity and compassion. She appreciates the interdisciplinary nature of the work and the ability to meaningfully influence a patient’s clinical trajectory. As a hospitalist, she is able to combine critical thinking with compassion. She finds purpose in making an immediate and meaningful difference in a patient’s outcome.
