CEU will be provided for professionals that need them.

Social Workers: This program is approved for social work continuing education by the Board of Behavioral Sciences-Wisconsin-Provider Number PCE 2331. Social Workers participating in this course will receive continuing education clock hours 5.25.

Registered Nurses: This program is approved for nursing continuing education by the Board of Registered Nursing-Wisconsin-Provider Number CEP 13474. Nurses participating in this course will receive continuing education clock hours 5.25.

Nursing Home Administrators: This educational offering is being reviewed by the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators (NAB) for clock hours and participant hours 5.25.

Speaker Bios:

Mary Gee, OTR/L has been an occupational therapist for almost 9 years with a variety of experience in clinical settings, currently working for Southwest Health. Most experience includes work on an inpatient rehab unit working with individuals requiring a greater intensity and duration of therapy prior to returning home (stroke, spinal cord injury/surgeries, traumatic brain injury, multiple trauma, etc). Additional experience includes general acute hospital settings, mental health, home health, long-term care, outpatient, home safety evaluations and driver evaluations. She volunteers for Hospice of Dubuque and is on the Board of Directors for the Miracle League of Dubuque. She is a certified yoga instructor. Mary enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan to maximize overall health and well-being.

Ashley Moore is the Director of Inpatient Pharmacy at Southwest Health Hospital in Platteville, WI. Ashley received her Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2020 and then went on to complete an ambulatory care focused pharmacy residency at the SSM Health Monroe Hospital in Monroe, WI. Ashley is passionate about driving positive change in healthcare delivery and is dedicated to leveraging her expertise and leadership to enhance medication management practices and ultimately improve patient care outcomes in the inpatient setting.

Kristina Ruch James, MS, CCC-SLP is a Speech Language Pathologist at Southwest Health. She has experience as acute care, outpatient, and home health speech-language pathologist. She has also worked in research as well as a skilled nursing facility and private practice. Kristina has experience treating and evaluating children and adults with a variety of disorders, including speech, expressive and receptive language, phonological, dysphagia, fluency, cognitive, voice, and swallowing. Kristina has treated patients with a variety of diagnoses including: Parkinson’s disease, dementia, post-stroke, CP, myasthenia gravis, Guillain barre syndrome, head/neck cancer, post-stroke, post-TBI, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, Digeorge’s Syndrome, Joubert’s Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome, William’s Syndrome, congenital stroke, and ADHD. Kristina enjoys treating across the lifespan from infancy to senior care and strives to build relationships with her clients and families.

Jennifer Miller Kass, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Behavioral Health Administrative Director at Southwest Health Behavioral Services. Jennifer provides psychotherapy to both adults and seniors as well as family counseling as part of the Memory Diagnostic Clinic at Southwest Behavioral Services’ outpatient behavioral services clinic. Her treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused brief therapy, mindfulness, stress management, grief therapy and debriefing. She has also worked in Inpatient Geriatric Behavioral Health at both Southwest Health and Stoughton Hospital. Wellness is a significant part of Jennifer’s role at Southwest Health serving as a member of the ‘Big M’ Wellness Committee, Social Determinates of Health Committee and as part of the Leadership team. In 2023, Jennifer received her certificate as a Worksite Wellness Specialist from the National Wellness Institute.

Lacy J. Taylor, MA, LPC, ATR, is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Southwest Health Behavioral Services. Lacy provides psychotherapy to both adults and adolescents at Southwest Behavioral Services’ outpatient mental health clinic. Before receiving her master’s degree in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling in 2015 she worked for 10 years as a CNA with adults with physical limitations, emotional struggles, and develop mental disabilities in a community based residential setting providing care and life enrichment activities. Her treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, stress management, and art therapy. Lacy uses art therapy to help promote insight, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, and engage the body, mind, and spirit in a way that verbal articulation alone cannot achieve.
