Southwest Health hosted a groundbreaking for its childcare center on October 1, 2025, with construction set to begin October 13, just north of the EMS building on Performance Drive in Platteville, Wisconsin.
Once complete in 2026, the center will accommodate up to 140 children, offering high-quality care for both Southwest Health employees and members of the broader community. Owned by Southwest Health and operated by New Horizon Academy—a Minnesota-based childcare provider with more than 100 schools nationwide—this facility will deliver outstanding early childhood education and care. Since 1971, New Horizon Academy has been dedicated to nurturing each child’s sense of self and fostering lifelong learning.
“This essential resource will be a tremendous benefit to our staff and the families we serve across the region,” said Dan Rohrbach, Southwest Health CEO. “We are deeply grateful to Governor Evers, Senator Marklein, the USDA and Senator Baldwin, the Kaiser Family Foundation, and all who have worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. Their support ensures we continue to meet the needs of our community in meaningful and lasting ways.”
