Southwest Health Oncology Support Group to Discuss Nutrition During Cancer

Local dietitian will share practical strategies for managing nutrition throughout treatment

Platteville, WI- Southwest Health will host an Oncology Support Group. The next session will focus on “Nutrition During Your Cancer Journey” on Tuesday, October 13, from 5:30 to &:00 p.m. in the Southwest Health EMS Conference Room.

Kelsey Dresen, RDN, CD, will lead a practical conversation about maintaining good nutrition throughout cancer treatment. The session will address the common questions and challenges, including what to eat during treatment, how to get enough protein and what to do when treatment affects appetite.

Good nutrition can help support the body during cancer treatment, but side effects, changing nutritional needs and a reduced appetite can make eating well more difficult. Participants will learn practical ways to navigate these challenges while supporting their overall health and well-being.
