Southwest Health Launches Walk-In Mammogram Clinic

Southwest Health is making breast cancer screening more convenient than ever by
launching a monthly Walk-In Mammogram Clinic, offering women in the region easier access to lifesaving early detection services, no appointment required.

The clinic will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from April through July, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Radiology Department at Southwest Health, 1400 Eastside Road in Platteville. Patients should enter through the 1st Entrance upon arrival.

Regular mammograms are one of the most effective tools for detecting breast cancer early, when treatment is most successful. Southwest Health’s walk-in model is designed to reduce scheduling barriers and increase access to preventive care across the region.

The Walk-In Mammogram Clinic is designed for women who need routine screening mammograms. To participate, patients must:

– Be 40 years of age or older
– Have not had a mammogram within the past 12 months (for health insurance compliance)
– Have not had breast cancer in the past three years
– Not have any current breast problems or concerns.

Patients with a recent history of breast cancer or current breast concerns should contact their healthcare provider to schedule a diagnostic appointment. Participants are asked to bring:

– Their health insurance card
– The location of their last mammogram
– The name of their Primary Care Provider

No appointment is necessary. Patients will check in with staff upon arrival for further instructions. By offering a walk-in option, Southwest Health aims to make routine screenings more convenient and accessible for women in the region.
