Dr. Asuma, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction. After completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, he spent four years as a staff orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Army, where he served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley, Kansas, and deployed with the 67th Forward Surgical Resuscitative Team.
Following his tenure in the Army, Dr. Asuma completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction of the Hip & Knee at Joint Implant Surgeons in New Albany, Ohio. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally on advances in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS).
