DAISY Award Nomination

Southwest Health nurses are now eligible for the DAISY Award, an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary skills and compassionate care nurses give daily.

The DAISY award was established in memory of Patrick Barnes, who died at age 33 from complications of an auto-immune disease. The care he and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired the Diseases Attacking the Immune System award.

Twice a year, the council will review nominations and determine DAISY award recipients based on key criteria (which align with Southwest Health values). Winners will each receive a special certificate, lapel pin, and hand-carved sculpture.
