Blood pressure monitoring kits available at local libraries

Southwest Health is making it easier than ever to take charge of your heart health. Through a new community health initiative, Blood Pressure Monitoring Kits are now available for checkout at local libraries in Platteville, Belmont, Cuba City, Dickeyville, Gratiot, Hazel Green, Lancaster, Potosi, and Shullsburg.

Each kit includes:
– Digital blood pressure monitor and cuff
– Easy-to-follow instructions
– Educational materials on managing high blood pressure
– Blood Pressure Diary

This program is part of Southwest Health’s continued commitment to making preventive care more accessible, especially for those who may not have a home monitor or who only need one temporarily.

Why Self-Monitoring Matters:
– Detects changes and trends between doctor visits
– Offers a fuller picture of your blood pressure over time
– Supports early detection and lifestyle awareness

Placing these kits in local libraries helps reduce barriers like transportation and cost, making self-monitoring simple and accessible to more people throughout Grant, Iowa, and Lafayette counties.
