Restorative Glaucoma Surgery

Ophthalmologist Mary Jo Oyen, MD

Clarity Comes from Experience

Dr. Mary Jo Oyen offers advanced care for your eyes, including restorative glaucoma procedures. Your eye sight is precious, and that’s why  Dr. Oyen’s experience and skill is important. Now, she brings  new and ever advancing technology to bear on preserving your vision and helping you see better.

The Next Step In Glaucoma Surgery

Glaucoma occurs when the normal fluid pressure inside the eye builds up, damaging the optic nerve. The damaged nerve can lead to loss of eyesight. Now, using breakthrough technology called iTrack, Dr. Oyen enlarges your eye’s drainage system and improves the outflow of fluid in your eyes. That lowers intraocular pressure which reduces or eliminates your symptoms of glaucoma and restores your field of view and vision. This procedure will also likely free you of the burdens of  anti-glaucoma medications.

Resume normal, day-to-day activities, such as watching TV of FaceTiming with your kids, immediately following treatment.

How Does iTrack Work?

Based on the same idea as angioplasty for your heart, iTrack uses a tiny microcatheter to open your eyes’ drainage system and restore your eyes’ natural function.

Your eye is anesthetized during the procedure, so you don’t feel any pain. After surgery, Dr. Oyen prescribes simple eye drops to reduce any inflammation and prevent pain.
