Massage appointments can be made as 30, 60, or 90 minute sessions.

Licensed massage therapist Aurora Hemann, ATC, LAT, LMT   provides a full range of sports, therapeutic, and relaxation massage treatments at our Orthopedic Institute on our hospital campus in Platteville.

Aurora Hemann, ATC, LAT, LMT

As a certified athletic trainer, Aurora brings special expertise that makes a difference for her clients. She’s trained in deep tissue, hot stone, Swedish, prenatal, sports massage, and post injury and recovery massage therapies.

Aurora’s unique combination of athletic training and massage therapy experience means she brings a deep understanding of the human body and how to best promote healing through massage. “I am delighted to offer a high level of service to clients and patients at Southwest Health,” says Aurora. “Health benefits of high-quality massage are well-documented, especially when it’s part of an integrated treatment system. Research tells us that integrating massage therapy into patient care has positive outcomes for patients and can even lower health care costs.”

Sessions may be booked for 30, 60, or 90 minutes, chair massage for 10, 15, and 20 minutes. 

 Therapeutic Massage: 

Mix of relaxation with trigger point work. This is the most common type.

 Relaxation Massage: 

Light pressure, meant to relax the body and mind to relieve stress. No trigger point work.

 Sports Massage: 

A mix of all massages, depending on what stage of athletic event or work event. Includes trigger point work, myofascial release, stretching, and percussion work.

Deep Tissue Massage: 

Deep muscle work. Includes trigger point work, myofascial release and some stretching.

 Prenatal Massage: 

Massage for pregnant women. Must be 14+ weeks.

 Chair Massage:

10, 15, or 20 minute massages great for people on the go. Relax while seated in a comfortable, forward facing chair with a padded headrest.

 Hot Stone Massage:

 Therapeutic massage incorporating the use of hot stones to help release trigger points and increase relaxation.

 Massage with Aromatherapy: 

Your choice of an essential oil to be added to any massage above to enhance the massage with a relaxing aroma.

A mix of therapeutic and deep tissue massage incorporating cupping to bring a negative pressure to trigger points.

Soft tissue therapy using instruments to treat scar tissue and facial restrictions following an injury.


Clothes on or incorporated into a massage session. Promotes relaxation and the feeling of peace and well-being by balancing the energy system.
