- Graduate Degree — Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa
- Undergraduate Degree — Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa

Special Interest: Geriatric psychiatry, psychotherapy, and grief.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kass has over 15 years of experience in psychiatry. Along with her position as Director of Southwest Behavioral Services Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, she has been providing psychotherapy services to adults and families since November 2013. She is trained as a generalist to provide quality mental health services to all age groups. Currently Kass is providing individual, therapy for adults. Areas of specialization include: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment issues, grief and loss.
Treatment approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, solution-focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing. She teaches cognitive restructuring, effective communication skills, relaxation strategies, stress management, and other positive coping skills. Kass uses strengths based and family systems approaches to enhance sense of identity, self-esteem, confidence and helps patients move forward.
Personal Interests: In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and scrapbooking. She is also a volunteer at her church and a local animal shelter. She is also a board member of Family Advocates (Domestic Abuse Shelter) in Platteville, Wisconsin.
