Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

- Associate Degree or two-year degree program required from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
- License in the state of Wisconsin as an Occupational Therapy Assistant required.
- Certification with the National Board in Occupational Therapy required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant implements occupational therapy services for inpatients, outpatients, SBS, nursing home, and home health patients/residents under the supervision of an occupational therapist, with services including treatment, standardized assessments, and documentation. The occupational therapist assistant may modify an intervention only in accordance with changes in patient/resident status and within the scope of the plan of care that has been established by the occupational therapist.
