Southwest Health is proud to announce Jeffrey Kueter, MD, has joined the team at the Platteville Clinic at Southwest Health.
Born and raised in Platteville, Dr. Kueter served more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, providing the full scope of exceptional military family medicine in 42 countries around the globe, including inpatient, outpatient, obstetrics, and combat medical care for soldiers of all stripes. He’s also instructed, guided, and mentored Family Medicine teaching faculty, residents, and medical students.
Remarkably, his experience also includes providing in-person care for three U.S. Presidents and Vice Presidents and their families in the White House and on Air Force One. From 2008 to 2013 and again from 2016 to 2017, Dr. Kueter served as White House Physician over three Presidential administrations. He’s liaisoned with foreign governments, international medical executives, and health care facilities around the world.
A graduate of Platteville High School (1990), Colonel Kueter (retired) graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1994. In 1998, he earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and went on to complete a Family Medicine Residency at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, where he was selected as Chief Resident.
Dr. Kueter has been a fully qualified Air Force Flight Surgeon and earned his wings through the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He has accumulated over 300 flight hours on Air Force One and Air Force Two. He is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College. In 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel two years below the promotion zone, an honor placing Dr. Kueter in the top one percent of Air Force Medical Corps officers. His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medial, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation medal, and Air Force Achievement Medal.
Dr. Kueter is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Diplomate of the American Board of Disaster Medicine and holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is dual board-certified in Family Medicine and Disaster Medicine.
