New Women’s Health Specialist Joins Southwest Health
The Women’s Center at Southwest Health welcomes to its staff Meghan Ogden, MD, OB/GYN, who is now seeing patients full time. An experienced specialist previously on staff at UW Health in Madison, Dr. Ogden joins Southwest Health women’s health director Kim Christopher Mackey, MD, OB/GYN, in providing comprehensive care for women, from care for pregnant women to fertility counseling to minimally invasive surgical care.
“We are delighted to bring southwest Wisconsin women the expertise of yet another remarkable specialist,” says Southwest Health Chief Development Officer Steve McCarthy. “Dr. Ogden is an outstanding addition to our team. Her arrival means we have further expanded access to women’s health care in southwest Wisconsin. We believe the people of our area deserve the same quality care as those of large urban centers, and I’m proud to report the talented specialists at our Women’s Center offer exceptional care at every level.”
An eleven year veteran practitioner, Dr. Ogden brings experience and knowledge to benefit her patients. She performed her undergraduate work at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York before earning her Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse College of Medicine in 2001. She then completed her residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire before coming to Wisconsin, where she served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin, a position that included the full scope of clinical obstetrics and gynecology practice.
“I am passionate about my job and about improving the health and wellbeing of women,” says Dr. Ogden. “I came to Southwest Health to be part of its tremendous focus on quality patient care, and that’s something that only comes from listening first and working with each individual patient to fully understand her and how her medical issues affect her life. Only in that way can we together find the best possible solutions.”
Dr. Ogden specializes in providing personalized obstetrics and gynecological care. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of reproductive and pregnancy care from planning for pregnancy to delivery as well as comprehensive gynecological care, including menopause, irregular periods, contraception, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and incontinence solutions.
“Dr. Mackey and I are here to make women’s lives easier by offering great care right here in southwest Wisconsin,” says Dr. Ogden. “I’m honored to now be part of the Southwest Health team, and I look forward to getting to know my patients.”
