Southwest Health Awarded for Workplace Excellence

For the second year in a row, Southwest Health has earned The Jackson Group’s Laureate Workplace Excellence Award. The honor was bestowed by the workplace development consulting firm for Southwest Health’s success in creating an exceptional work climate as measured by employee responses to an annual work climate survey.

The Laureate award recognizes excellence in internal communication, employee involvement, personal commitment to the organization, and employee perceptions of leadership.

danr_8-10Southwest Health CEO Dan Rohrbach says, “Three years ago we embarked on a Journey to Excellence, which is a comprehensive improvement initiative we continue to this day. Our goal is to create a health care system that not only serves the people of our southwest Wisconsin communities with truly excellent health care but also serves our entire workforce the best way possible by creating a place that gives every employee a chance to realize their personal potential.”

In addition to the award, other evidence is mounting that shows Southwest Health’s staff is performing at an inspired level. The hospital campus recently achieved a ranking in the top two percent of hospitals in the nation for patient satisfaction. Overall, the local health system has grown revenue by 75 percent in the past three years and is investing in new construction, in new technology, in new services, and in its people. The number of Southwest Health employed medical practitioners has also grown from just two to 36, and its Epione Pavilion facility in Cuba City regularly achieves awards and recognitions, such as its five star skilled nursing facility recognition by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Says Rohrbach, “This award is a great honor for us because it demonstrates we have come very far on our Journey. By nearly every measure imaginable, our team is performing exceptionally well. The fact is, we could not be more proud of our staff for the tremendous work they do and of our communities for the support they’ve shown us along the way.” The survey was administered in May of this year with 95 percent of the staff reporting Southwest Health is a “great place to work.”
